Strathmore is a magnificent house designed by Bert Pepler. There is a continuous line of contrasts woven throughout the house. The steep entrance agrees with the heavy foundations that grip the lower level and slowly becomes lighter as you move upstairs. Contrasts present themselves in solidity vs. transparency in that you feel as if you have the world in sight yet you are in complete privacy.
